Really, I have always wanted to try one. In high school, this kid would sing "Cha-Cha-Cha Chia" at Stacey and myself. I suppose he was mocking our hair. rude.
Your post makes me laugh because we have an un-opened chia pet that has made it's way through our family every Christmas for several years. Whoever gets it just saves it and wraps it up all pretty the next year to give to another family member. No one has ever opened it or tried to grow it, and we don't remember where it originally came from.
Every Christmas, the commercials for Chia Pets start plugging the airwaves. Not small cable slots, mind you. Prime time advertising.

We received one and it was super gay...and it started growing mold! I picthed it immediatley!
I just bought one for Jaida...Shrek...I hope it does not mold on us :(
